How does Find a Practitioner (FAP) directory sort the search results?

All search results in the FAP directory are sorted by the distance from the center of a zip code.

Google Maps uses a standardized calculation from a center of a zip code to the given address (in our case, acupuncture practice location). The only parameters used in the calculation are:

• The center of a zip code;
• Acupuncture practice address

As a result, Google maps produces a distance in miles from the center of the zip code. The NCCAOM has no control over those calculations, all practice locations for certified Diplomates in the FAP directory are calculated in the same manner.
